I hope so or you shouldn’t be reading this.

If you spend more than 10 seconds with the opposite sex you’ll agree men and women are different. Hollywood uses these differences to pack theaters world wide.

Look at this example.

Women pay good money to see chick flicks that will have them laughing and crying for hours.

Remember these?
The Blind Side
The Notebook
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
10 Things I Hate About You
The Lucky One
Valentine’s Day
Crazy, Stupid Love
Pretty Woman
The Twilight Saga

Men on the other hand like action movies.
The Dark Knight
Die Hard
The Bourne series
Kill Bill
Fast & Furious
Red 1 & 2
James Bond
Anything with Chuck Norris

Now this is where the fun starts .

Hollywood spends billions of dollars making movies and advertising them with movie posters and trailers.

Now ask yourself this.

What types of images do you see on movie posters for chick flicks and action movies?

Men and women respond very differently to images.

As a general rule chick flicks have happy, loving couples while action movies have high impact violent images on the movie posters.

Think the poster images are randomly picked?

The same thing is also true for printed novels.

Could you confuse a romance novel for a Tom Clancy thriller by just looking at the cover ?

I doubt it.

Are you still using the same image in FaceBook or Yahoo for both women and men?

If so, you are leaving money on the table. While your competitors are running around with the same image for both men and women you now have a competitive edge by using different images for your ads.
